STHF receives huge round of applause from the NGO 'WHERE THE MIND IS WITHOUT FEAR' and TEAM SUBRITTAYAN where they celebrated the purity of water honouring the founder member of STHF, Dr. Arup Kr. Sengupta for his noble work worldwide.
We were overwhelmed by the theatrical performance presented before us by TEAM SUBRITTAYAN as a gift that conveyed the motive of our work to supply people pure drinking water. Water can be pronounced in may ways, in many dialects but the basic component doesn't get altered by the pronunciation. It is the purity of water which marks its brilliance.
‘Subrittayan’ was formed in 2005 with a few energetic, active, theatre-loving school children, under the pioneering leadership of Srmt. Ratna Ray. Dr. Arup Kr. Sengupta was honoured for his unflagging enthusiasm and his numerous contributions to science. Other members of STHF were honoured respectively for their tireless work that persistently makes STHF a success. As a part of that event, the members of Subrittayan performed their play “Jal-Paani” at Sarat Sadan, Behala. No other gift could have summed up the motto of STHF so brilliantly. As the name suggests, it is a play where one uses numerous words to denote the basic necessity of human life – water or H2O. Going beyond the man-made communal division, the play tried to show how the purity of water connects us all and religion can be no barrier at all. STHF works with this same motto. The ever significant words came up through the players who played their parts on the stage proclaiming "Jah Jol tai Paani, Nei kono Sando" (Both the words 'Jol- Paani' are the same) signifying STHF's struggle to reach boundaries in helping the people in distress. We try to bring “pure water” (arsenic-free) to every nook and corner of the society and dream to form a community where words like “jal” and “paani” (both used to denote “water” in different religious sects) would not be used to divide but to unite.
